I watched all four Chrismukkah episodes of The OC on Christmas. I have now decided to rewatch the series. There are still some episodes in season 4 that I haven’t watched. Because I’m a crazy person and I wasn’t ready to let go.

This is still one of my favorite moments from season 2, I love Troy!

This week’s episode of Modern Family was a particularly strong one. It’s always at it’s best when it balances between the funny and the emotional. The best storylines this week were between Mitchell and Jay and Walt and Luke.
I haven’t really gotten into Tumblr, but I’m going to try again.
Here are my thoughts on the Top 11 of American Idol:
Naima- She has a lot of potential in the beginning of the show, but she has slipped since the live-shows. She needs to pull it together and actually start hitting her notes.
Thia- I swear to God, Thia is a robot. She never really moves when she sings and all of her emotions seem completely fake. I think she is way to young to be in this competition and the judges should have told her to way a few years and come back. All we ever get from her are ballads, but at the same time I think a more up-tempo song would be awkward to see. She is going to really step it up and do something different if she wants to stay on the show.
Haley- I really can’t figure her out. I liked her growly tone at first, but I don’t know who she is musically and I’m starting to doubt that she knows. Hopefully tonight she can pull out something good to impress everyone or else there’s a good chance she’s going home tomorrow.
Lauren- I’m not the biggest fan of Lauren and it’s probably because the producers were pimping her so much in the beginning. She’s a good singer, but she’s not as good as past teenage contestants (ahem-Allison Iraheta). She needs to actually be as good as the producers want her to be.
James- From the very first time I saw him, I really disliked James. He seemed cocky to me and a Adam Lambert- wannabe. He does not have as much control as Adam did and he needs to work on that. The first time I started to like him was his “Maybe I’m Amazed,” two weeks ago. I’m hoping he pulls out another performance like that tonight.
Jacob- …. I don’t know what to say. I thought was amazing during Hollywood week and he really caught my attention. He has a crazy good voice and we all know that. However, his last two performances have been total trainwrecks. The judges are telling him he is great, but he needs to pull it back. I’m don’t know what he is going to do tonight, and here’s hoping he notices what he’s been doing has not really been good.
Scotty- Everytime I see Scotty, I never remember that he’s only sixteen. He has such an old soul, and paired with his voice, he seems way older than he is. Country isn’t really my thing so it’s always really hard for me to judge him. He has an awesome voice, but it just doesn’t do anything for me.
Stefano- Stefano is really good. Like really good. I won’t deny that, but I am not as crazy about him as other people are. None of his performances so far have really caught my attention in that way. I’m going to pay close attention to him tonight so I can get a glimpse of what other people are seeing.
Pia- If I didn’t know who Pia was and took one look at her, I think I would probably hate her. She just looks like she was be a pretty, but dumb girl. But, she has a powerhouse voice and it’s amazing. I have two concerns with Pia: She needs to be less pageant-y and she needs to somehow show us that she can be current. American Idol’s only concern is selling records and that their contestants need to be current. I think she can be that person, but she needs to show it.
Paul- I fell in love with Paul when I saw him perform “Blackbird” with Kendra. He had a really nice tone and I love that sing/songwriter vibe. But, his weird dancing and arm movements is really hard to watch. He hasn’t had a really good moment on Idol since “Blackbird.” I think if he busts out his guitar and does something a little more low-key, he’ll really show people why he’s there.
Casey- I LOVED Casey from the first time I saw him. He was almost a breath of fresh air in the whole Idol machine. My favorite performance so far this season-from anyone-was his Hollywood week performance of “Georgia On My Mind.” It was fantastic, but everything he’s done since then hasn’t been up to par. However, he is still my favorite.
One thing I want to add is how disappointed the judges have been. I mean, what is going on? Since when is Randy the only judge that is making any sense? I had higher hopes for Steven Tyler and that he could be a little more critical of the contestants. Both he and Jennifer Lopez are becoming like Ellen last year, which is not good.
OK, that all I have to say on that. Let’s see what happens tonight.
I heart him
I watched Parks and Recreation from the beginning. The first season was mediocre, but something happened over the break because when it returned for it’s second season, it was a completely different show. Leslie was more relatable and tolerable as a character. They formed a new romance with Andy and April that had everyone rooting for them. They made Jerry the one everyone hated for no reason. And they made Tom less douchey.
Anyway, about a month ago I saw that season 2 was on Netflix Watch Instantly, so I commenced the rewatch. There were very few episodes that I had any complaints about. The addition towards the end of the season of Rob Lowe and Adam Scott, as Chris and Ben, respectively, were a fantastic surprise. I mean, who new Rob Lowe was so funny?
When the season 3 premiered last Thursday, I was pumped. And thankfully, it lived up to my expectations. Leslie rounding up the gang was awesome, especially her throwing Jerry’s painting into the lake. Adam Scott continued to be adorable, and the scene where he was kind of dancing to Ke$ha was the best. When the writers gave that explanation to why Chris was so positive made sense and now they have the ability to make him do crazy things, and they can get away with it. I am excited to see where both couplings of Chris/Anne and Ben/Leslie go.
Another thing that was great was that it was a great episode to introduce new viewers to it. The intro was great and they reference things from last season like the gay penguin wedding and Ben as the failed mayor of his town. Also, Parks and Rec got record high ratings, so let’s hope people tune in next week.
OK, that’s all I got. I’m excited for next week! Later nerds.
